Upper Cumberland FishingClay County Tennessee already holds the title for World Record Small Mouth fishing with an 11 pound 15 oz. small mouth caught on July 9th, 1955 on Dale Hollow Lake. Some say it was caught in Clay County and some say Jackson County but either way it is a Tennessee State Record Stripper at 65 pounds 6 ounces caught on Cordell Hull Reservoir. On the Cumberland River near Lock C was a 112 pound blue catfish which holds the State Record. There is definitely a lot of fishing going on in Clay County Tennessee. Take a few minutes and enjoy what's been caught recently. If this is not enough for you check out the latest edition of Tennessee Sportsman (August 2002 edition) page 38 "Smallies When It Sizzles! August Bass Tips". This is an article that was written from an interview on Dale Hollow Lake with Smallmouth Guru Stephen Headrick, a Celina local. In May of 2002 Farrell Husband of Kentucky came and stayed at the Dobber's Nest Motel. During his stay he and a friend fished the Cumberland River here in Celina Tennessee and he landed this nice Stripper.
The beginning of August 2002 Mark Grace of Celina Tennessee was fishing the Cumberland River when he caught this 7+ pound walleye.
